Room in a shared flat

Hoi zäme!

From November, we will be living in a freshly renovated 3.5-room apartment in Weinegg and are looking for a flatmate for the vacant room from November/December. We are not looking for a Zweck-WG (shared flat for convenience), but explicitly for a person for a shared home.

Who we are looking for:

– Someone who thinks similarly to us: values such as equality, openness, solidarity, social justice, and an awareness of sustainable living are important to us, and we would be happy if that is also the case for you.
– We mostly cook vegetarian. Joachim also eats meat sometimes, but because we often cook together, it will mostly be a veggie dish. It would be nice if you also feel like doing that.
– No one knows what life brings, but we hope for someone who can imagine making a home here for longer and accordingly also wants to help shape the shared home.
– A real desire for community: enjoying eating together, doing something on the weekend, contributing to the house and garden, and occasionally bringing friend circles together.
– Respectful interaction, open communication, and uncomplicated coexistence in which everyone takes responsibility for the apartment and likes to keep it clean and tidy.
– If you are roughly our age, speak German, and perhaps even share a few interests with us, we look forward to your application!
— p.s.: The room can only be occupied by one person, as a maximum of three people are allowed to be registered in the apartment.

About us:

We are a couple with many years of WG experience and live consciously communally. With us, everyone has the same rights and duties, and that also applies to you :)
Together we like being in nature kayaking or in the mountains (hiking, cycling, snowboarding,...) and in the evenings we like watching a film on the couch. We sometimes have friends visiting for a cooking/game night and also rarely but gladly go to a good electro event.
Joachim (39) is a train engineer in Winterthur, likes watching and playing football, goes to the gym daily, and enjoys being social. Nadine (30) is a political scientist, researches at ETH and advises on accessibility at UZH. She is socially and politically engaged, likes sitting dogs, and tends to the many plants that transform the living room into a jungle.

Room & Apartment:

Room: approx. 16 m² with a window facing the garden, partially furnished or unfurnished, as you like.
Apartment:
– Two separate bathrooms with WC, one with a shower and one with a bathtub.
– First occupancy after major renovation (year of construction 1980): old charm with wooden doors and a wood fireplace, plus modern bathrooms and kitchen.
– High-quality furnished with design and vintage furniture and a fully equipped kitchen
– Balcony, communal garden in front of the house and own family garden (5 min. on foot for shared use and design)

Location:

Quiet side street, a few minutes from the Tram Balgrist. Forest 250 m, lake 1.5 km, Bellevue 2.5 km. Migros and restaurants are around the corner, the Wehrenbachtobel, the Botanical Garden, and the Seefeld are quickly reachable. Green and quiet, yet central.
